Two and one-half years.
What do you do at SDC?
I’m the culinary instructor for ChefStart.
Tell us how it helps in the war against poverty.
I teach commercial food safety and culinary arts. The classes are designed to train food service managers. It is a jumpstart to a culinary career that allows individuals to access good jobs.
What motivates you? Why do you do this work?
I need to feel like I am giving back or I am not happy. I get to cook for people, share my passion for food and life and help the next generation of culinarians move ahead.
Describe a time when you felt like your work at SDC made a difference in someone’s life.
I have a student running her own restaurant. I am very proud of her.
Tell us something people don’t know about you.
I flew a B-52 for thirty minutes.
